Desktop Computing Solutions

Lastar's portfolio of desktop computing solutions includes USB cables and devices, VGA cables and devices, DVI cables and accessories, DisplayPort cables, serial cables, parallel cables, FireWire® cables and accessories network patch cords, switchboxes including KVMs, and a wide variety signal switches/converters/extenders. From "standard" to extended lengths, providing a comprehensive offering of desktop connectivity solutions ensures Lastar customers don't have to go to multiple sources to obtain the complete solution. We even offer SCSI cables to support the legacy requirements of our customers.

Network Solutions

Computer networks are essential to virtually every business and home today, which is why Lastar has developed such an extensive offering of network connectivity solutions. All of our products are standards-based and when an off-the-shelf solution won't solve the challenge we can build virtually any custom configuration. We continuously add new solutions to our portfolio to ensure we are keeping up with the latest technology trends including Laser Optimized Multimode Fiber and Cat6a. A broad array of length, colors, and connector options are standard fare with Lastar.

Audio/Video Solutions

Audio/video has quickly evolved from basic analog signals to complex, high-bandwidth digital signals. To support legacy technology, to be on the cutting edge of the newest technology, and to cover the convergence space in between, Lastar has developed a complete portfolio of solutions. Our solutions are not simply limited to cables, although that is a major part of our business. We also offer devices that switch, extend, and convert signals. Our RapidRun line of modular A/V cabling is a perfect example of how Lastar takes standards-based technology and makes it more usable.

Wireless Solutions

Wireless networking has become common place over the past eight years. Due to the rapid commoditization of wireless networking devices, Lastar decided not to enter into this space although we recognized the growth trend that wireless technology represented. To leverage this trend of wireless technology, Lastar has developed and released award-winning wireless VGA and wireless USB solutions that enable PC users to connect to monitors and USB peripherals using standards-based protocols. By using standards-based protocols, our products are fully compatible with all other products that use the same set of standards, providing our customers the ability to integrate our solutions in to their existing infrastructure.

Structured Cabling Solutions

Structured cabling encompasses a broad expanse of technologies and applications. From the wall plate to the in-wall wire to the patch panel and the parts and pieces on either end or in between, Lastar has a solution. Lastar segments structured cabling into three categories: data network, audio/video distribution, and multi-media which includes a combination of data and audio/video. With our multitude of options, users can both leverage off-the-shelf preconfigured solutions or quickly and easily created a tailored solution to meet the application's requirements. This is just another component of Lastar providing single-source, turn-key, integrated solutions.

When a custom solution is needed, Lastar™ is ready to help with built-to-specification solutions. We bring a consultative approach to sales and engineering to help our customers determine their applications' requirements. We offer both custom design and cost-effective manufacturing techniques—both domestic short-run or off-shore large volume production. All our custom products are backed by a lifetime guarantee against defects in workmanship. We also offer value-added services such as:

  • Rapid prototyping of cables that require custom molding
  • Light assembly of moderate-run custom assemblies and harnesses
  • Production of moderate-volume custom cable assemblies requiring over molding
  • Molding capability for projects that require rubberized or specialized molding compounds to support applications in the high voltage market
