The Lastar Story
Lastar is a family of connectivity companies based in Moraine, Ohio and focused on
providing complete connectivity solutions to the PC, audio/video, and electrical industries.
Lastar was founded in 1984 as Cables To Go by Mike Shane, Geoffrey Hyman, and Jeff Fourman. What
started out as three men making cables turned into a multimillion-dollar connectivity provider. Their
short term goal was to make cables for the evolving high tech computer industry. As time evolved,
additional cables and computer connectivity products were added and the company grew both through
expanding its own sales and by acquiring other companies. In 1992 the Lastar Group was acquired to
provide network design and installation services.

Four years later, in 1996, the acquisition of ASP Computer Products brought us Serial and Parallel Port
Sharing Solutions. In 1998 Lastar went global, creating an Asian manufacturing and sourcing affiliate
known today as CTG International. In the following year, Cables To Go acquired Pen Cabling Technology
allowing us to increase manufacturing capacity in the OEM space. In 2003, Lastar recognized an opportunity
in the A/V cabling and connectivity market and thus created the division Impact Acoustics. The most
recent addition, which allowed penetration in the Fiber Optic Market, occurred in 2004 with the
acquisition of Quiktron. Today, Lastar employs over 380 people in eleven states and is considered one
of the top connectivity solutions providers in the industry.
